Acrylic on Canvas

The piece of art that spoke to me was a square stretch of canvas with bright colours like orange, green and blue, the ones you see during sunrise, blended in an appealing manner. This piece was by an artist called Krishnamachari Bose who put together acrylic on canvas to make this 137 by 137 cm. of brilliant colour fusion. The foreground is 3-dimensional with paint mixes that flows down candidly. In the first glance, it looks bright and cheerful, delivering a delightful smile on your face. The background is the union of just a few colours, but the foreground has many more shades of the same colours, with stripes here and there.

I connected to this painting more than anything else because it shows the randomness of the inside of my brain, shows just how much value each stripe in it could carry. It also displays a sense of freedom - especially the freely flowing foreground colours.

While I was standing and looking at the painting, somewhere in the back of my head, I sort of felt like I have a connection with this painter - a connection of minds. It might just be a myth, a psychological illusion of sorts, whatever one may call it, but for those 20 minutes when I stood staring at it, felt like I could make sense of it all!
