                               It Helped Me Grow

When I walk down memory lane, my favourite place to stay is my old room, it made me feel like I was exactly where I belonged, it surrounded me with warmth and security. It was simple, homely and comforting, I had to share it with my older brother ,it was an era in my life I wouldn’t trade for the world.

My large windows gave me a beautiful view of the sunrise every morning .It filled my room with mellow, soft light dancing in intricate diamond shaped patterns. The twirling dust mites in the sunlight would remind you of lying down on a warm beach soaking up the best things in the world.

All the visitors in my room were entranced by the kaleidoscopic patterns on my shelves that were painted in rich hues in one of my bursts of creativity. And on gloomy days when I wasn't upto facing the world I would retreat to the comfort of my bed and snuggle with my blanket and reflect while I gazed at the patterns around me.

But all this is just one aspect of the room, as if merged with another world, the other side of my room reverberated emptiness, disdain and ignorance, amplifying the hollow bond between me and my brother.

This contrast of emotions that my room reflects helped me grow. These elements were substantial in moulding me into what I am today.
