My room
Mom says I need to take only the important
things with me, we’re shifting you see and we already have three trucks full of
our stuff. Daddy gave us three day to clear up, “we men need one day to do
these things.” Dad said “hope three days is enough.”I started clearing my study
desk which was on the right side of the window as you enter the room. I found my old slam book which was given to
me by my best friend carol, hugged it, smelt it, and then placed it inside the going
away box. Amy, my cousin, came in to help me pack. The frames that were aligned
horizontally above the dresser’s table,( the lowest dresser’s table in the
house, I had since I was five.) were taken out one by one . These frames held
captured memories of childhood days, primary school and high school, that’s
when I realized that one of the frames had fallen behind the CD rack which was
just next to the dresser’s table .I removed my bean bag that was in the way and
reached in to get the frame. I dusted it and smiled,my Family photo. I sighed,
because I still had a lot to do. Mom called for dinner so I had to get into
some good clothes, so I went to the cupboard close to my bed, selected my
outfit and looked up to where I had stuck Johnny Depp’s poster. I had it up there
since dad shifted my cupboard to an empty corner leaving that wall opposite to
the cupboard looking bare. So Johnny was allowed to watch every time I changed
my clothes. The small separate room (room in a room) where I kept my books and
my music looked chaotic, I had to save clearing that up for the next day. I
told Amy to go ahead, down stairs for dinner. I looked at my room; I smiled and
said “I’m going to Miss You.” then followed Amy downstairs.
