In the short poem Wild Geese according to my perspective Mary Oliver connects to her readers by firstly comparing wild geese to humans , she says that we don't have to be good at everything we do.. It's just not worth it, it makes more sense to be great not good at something you love and something that defines who you are. She tells us to share our secrets and despair with her and she will do the same but time won't wait for us, it'll slowly pass by us. The poem depicts a beautiful imagery of the moving landscapes and the mountains and the rivers. She has this wonderful notion that reads that the world accepts us for who we are, no matter what we decide to do in life , the world offers its imagination to us. 'The harsh and exciting' , to me it refers to the ups and downs of life, the good and the bad things that's all part of a persons journey through life .
Basically her message is Do what you love in life and don't suffer fot things you don't care about, be yourself cause no matter what you do ,the world will accept you if your happy with yourself and your doings in life. She gets this message across by throwing in pieces of information throughout this poem with the depiction of the beautiful imagery, the soft tone and the sweet message.
