                                                         RATIONALE
When I look at the painting, it calls out to my innermost desire- perfection. It is a huge 127 x 153 cm oil on canvas painting, filled with rich hues of orange, red and yellow, with a mild splash of lavender. It is bold, sharp and precise. Its lines are beautifully drawn in perfect angles and it calls out to its viewers  like a proud peacock in display.

The painting is symmetry personified, you could fold it into half along the length and each side would be the reflection of the other. The painting feels like the intricate pattern of cause and effect. It appeals to everything rational in me.

It has a base triangle with multiple inner folds which seem to be reaching out and it transcends to a square on the upper half of the painting. the square is made up of four triangles, and has multiple halos of different shapes and sizes, the last one blooms out to look like the petals of a flower.

The title of this painting is ________ and hence I’m taking the liberty to rename the painting ‘Rationale’ in my own mind, as that is what it symbolizes to me. But while I admire the painting Rationale I can feel the missing pieces, it lacks the chaos, the confusion and the other colours of the spectrum that make life complete. It doesn’t have the depth of a dark blue or the serenity of the colour green or the shades of grey that people live in. It lacks emotions other than the passion of red or the positivity of the yellow. I identify with the painting, as it is similar to my inner conflicts, it symbolises what I want to be, while it shows my own shortcomings with what it lacks.
