My take on "Wild Geese"

From the first few lines of the poem, I understood that it is alright to make mistakes. Sometimes, we unintentionally make a mistake and instead of sitting around brooding about it, we should move on. We do not have to repent for the rest of our life and we must learn to let go. We needn't have any inhibitions and should love as freely as possible. There isn't any necessity to hold back once you love doing something (unless of course, it is illegal or immoral).
The poet then says to share your problems and open up. Sharing your sorrows can never increase the pain, so why not? But you cannot expect the world to wait on you. The world will move on even if you don't.
In the final part, I understood that we all have our place in the world. All of us have the gift of imagination and the world so far and wide and is always open for our imagination. We all belong somewhere even if at times we feel like we don't. When ever we feel lonely, just think about this- We have so much around us. An endless number of possibilities. There is so much left to discover and explore. The world offers so much to you. If you don't believe me, there's always the internet. Just like every lock has its key, you have a place where you feel like you belong (it could be with a friend, with an animal, the library or even in the middle of Africa).

We should not be afraid to be ourselves. We must move on, especially when you want to change. Give yourself a chance. Seize the opportunity to do what you want and happiness just follows.
